ADDITIONAL KEY MARKETING REMINDERS FROM CMS FOR 2009

No offering of gifts, cash, rebates or promotional items at activities/events exceeding $15
No meals “of any sort” at promotional or sales activities regardless of value
No unsolicited means of direct contact of prospective enrollees
No door-to-door marketing
No outbound telemarketing without the prospective enrollee initiating contact
No cross-selling of non-health related products during marketing of MA and Part D plans (e.g. such as sale of annuities or life insurance)
No sales and marketing activities in health care settings except in common areas, including no sales presentations or acceptance or distribution of applications
No sales and marketing activities at educational events, including no sales presentations or distribution or acceptance of applications
