New Medicare Supplement Rates Coming Soon to Pennsylvania (PA), Tennessee (TN) and Texas (TX)

Look for New Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans on the Medicare Quote Engine in the coming week and look for lower premiums.  I just heard that some plans in Pennsylvania (PA), Tennessee (TN) and Texas (TX) are taking rate REDUCTIONS and some new options are being added.  Look for the new rates around August 16th!

AM Best Lowers Financial Ratings on Great American Health Subsidiaries

I saw this headline and missed the fact that some of the subsidiaries were lowered.  Loyal American is one of the subs, but they did stay in AM Best’s “Excellent” category at A-.  Medicare Quote Engine reflect this change shortly.

Our Lead CRM and Medicare Quote Engine are two of the heaviest used features of our website.  Now, Leads and Quote Engine will work together to allow you to provide detailed quote information to your prospects almost instantly.

You will now see a link next to your leads which says, “Quote This Lead”.  You can “Left Click” the link and instantly have the prospects information loaded into Medicare Quote Engine.  If you don’t want to navigate away from your master lead page, “Right Click” on the link and choose to open the link in a new tab or in a new window.

Be sure to indicate the correct effective date!  On a default basis, the effective date will be the first day of the following month!

Product rollout begins tomorrow, April 19th, 2010.  For a list of states and release dates, view our Resources Page (Password Protected) and select:

  • Company = American Continental (or Continental Life)
  • Resource = Product Availability
  • Product = Medicare Supplement

We will begin downloading “rates”, “outlines of coverage” and “applications” for 4/19/2010 release states tomorrow as they come available (American Continental – AL, AR, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC and SD;  Continental Life – DE, IA and WV).  You can search on any of these resources for your state.

Rates should be loaded into Medicare Quote Engine within a week to 10 days.  I will advise on this blog when they are ready for quoting.

Ritter Insurance is pleased to announce the release of 2010 Medicare Advantage and Part D data within our proprietary Medicare Quote Engine (MQE).  Ritter Insurance is committed to serving our insurance agent community, so we are thrilled to have this important information integrated into our web-based tool less than one week after CMS made the information public.

Medicare Quote Engine is a free tool for insurance agents who are registered users of our website.  

Insurance agents seeking use of this tool can register as users by clicking here. 

While free, MQE is invaluable in helping agents find plan availability and premiums in EVERY ZIP CODE in the United States in order to assist them in helping their clients find plans to meet their client’s needs.

MQE, which generates over 30,000 quotes/month for insurance agents, has Medicare Advantage Plan data which is also sortable by Plan Type and/or by whether Prescription drugs are included in the plan.

Medicare Part D data includes Plan Name, Premium, Deductible, Gap Coverage and whether or not the plan is zero premium with Low Income Subsidy.

We look forward to the release of benefit data which we expect to go live by the end of the month to further assist insurance agents in evaluating the large number of options available.

I made a similar presentation during five live sessions in PA.  I think I do a bit better live, but Webex’s have their advantages too as I’m better able to integrate the Web Based portions of the presentation.

To summarize, I cover what an Independent Insurance Agent needs to know about MIPPA 2008, the 2010 CMS Call Letter, the CMS announcement on the 2010 Medicare Advantage Capitation rates, the Recently Announced Service Area Reductions and how this will affect their business later this year.

I finish up with the Medigap Modernization changes which will take place on June 1st, of 2010.

Aetna Med Supp Rates Added to Medicare Quote Engine

We added Aetna Med Supp rates in a dozen states:  AZ, CA, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, SC and TX.  Log into our agent gateway to view rates.  Visit our “Agent Gateway” page for login info and instructions.  Rate sheets and outlines of coverage (no apps yet) are available in our resource center.  I grabbed these from the Aetna website, so I don’t have final commissions yet, but theey were supposed to be available soon!?!
