UnitedHealth Group and AARP Extend Partnership

UnitedHealth Group and AARP have agreed to extend their partnership from 2020 to 2025. Under the deal, AARP allows UnitedHealthcare to use the organization’s brand on its Medicare plans.

The contract includes the option to further the relationship until 2030 if it continues to be mutually beneficial.

The two companies teamed up in 1997 to improve the health and wellness of seniors 50 and older. The partnership enhances beneficiaries’ health through prescription discounts, nutrition education, innovative research, and community development.

The joint effort has been lucrative for UHC as they’ve grown their membership and revenue to record numbers. They now hold the title of largest health insurance company in America.

Financially, UnitedHealth Group reported a 30 percent increase in second-quarter earnings over last year. They also set a company record with more than $50 billion in gross revenue.
