The CLASS Act was a part of Health Care Reform which provided limited long term care insurance on a voluntary basis.  The administration concluded that the program was not financially viable nor sustainable and pulled the plug on the program this past Friday.  Here is a story from Bloomberg.

CMS Announces Star Ratings for 2012

CMS released Star Ratings a couple days ago.  There are 9 plans with 5 star ratings (up from 3 in 2011).  Here is a link to an article from USA Today which lists the 5 star plans at the bottom.

As of October 1st, Aetna completed its acquisition of Genworth’s Senior Supplemental business which includes Continental Life of Brentwood Tennessee, American Continental and some Genworth Medicare Supplement policyholders. You will now find the Aetna logo on the Continental Life website.
