The profit was in spite of losses on individual business. Under 65 individual business posted a loss of $94 million and Over 65 MEDIGAP business posted a loss of $186 million. Medicare Part D Provider Placed on Marketing Suspension by CMS

CMS placed Fox Insurance which sells Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans in 21 states on a Marketing and Enrollment Suspension until they can resolve issues surrounding complaints by members and physicians. Here is the full story from CMS.

Here is an update from the WSJ Blog. Essentially, by delaying the processing of claims for 10 days, it gives Congress 14 days to put a fix in place.

Virginia-Based Maximus Wins Award from CMS to Provide Review Services for Part D Coverage Determinations

We’ve dealt with Maximus when appealing Late Enrollment Penalties which are applied to either Part D or MAPD premiums. They’re pretty good to work with. Now they will also be handling appeals for Coverage Determinations for Part D. Here is where you can find the article on this.
