EHealth.com launched it’s Medicare Products portal last October. I was looking at the report on their fourth quarter financials and found a statement by their CFO that they were cutting their 2010 project earnings by $3 million to account for additional spending on their Medicare website in 2010. I’d guess their TOTAL 2010 spend on Medicare will be many multiples of that. Their website is www.ehealthmedicare.com.
They also recently announced a relationship with CareFirst in Maryland for their Medicare Supplement product. EHealth does about 125,000 health applications a quarter (under age 65), but their growth rate is slowing. They view Medicare as a prime growth market and are looking to become the dominant brand on the web for Medicare Beneficiaries.
Just something to keep an eye on!
