Doctors and seniors are lobbying for a permanent fix to the Medicare cuts. Senate Bill passed last Thursday would enact “pay as you go” restrictions on Congress, but exempted $82 Billion in additional payments to to prevent reductions in the Physician’s Fee Schedule. This would “fix” the fee schedule for a period of 5 years, bypassing the Deficit Reduction Act of 1997’s “Medicare Sustainability” model.
