Next step in the process is to see what happens in the Senate. The Stupak Amendment, which does not allow Federal Funds to be used to pay for abortions, also passed prior to the Final Vote on HR 3962. The Stupak Amendment seemed to satisfy enough Blue Dogs to allow for passage. There was one Republican vote in favor and there were 39 Democrat votes against.

So will they give an automatic guaranteed acceptance back into a Med Supp if they are cancelled by an Advantage Plan?
Jack: If an MA plan terminates, there is a Guarantee Issue for Med Supp plans A, B, C and F as long as the Medicare Beneficiary applies for the Med Supp within 63 days of their loss of coverage (Early March for plans terminating 1/1/10).
