Section 70.6 of the Chapter 3 marketing Guidelines was revised by CMS yesterday. In 2010, CMS is requiring Outbound Verification Calls for ALL types of enrollments: HMO, PPO, SNP, PFFS and even Part D. It’s important as agents that you make your client aware that they will be receiving a verification call. Plans are required to make at least 3 attempts to reach the beneficiary within 15 days of receipt of the enrollment. A letter is mailed out after the first attempt.
If you would like to see a model script which CMS developed for the Outbound Verfication Call, click here. Then click on “Outbound Enrollment Verification Models”. You can open the zip file and see the sample script of the outbound verification call and the letter which is sent where the client could not be reached.
