I just learned the timetable for the release of Aetna’s 2010 product filing for Agent and Broker use only.  I should be getting information on the 2010 plan designs the week before Labor Day.  We will release the 2010 Medicare Advantage Product Information for Agent and Broker use only through the protected portion of our website on or around September 8th, 2009. 

Recall from an earlier blog post that Aetna will not be paying commission to brokers for Private Fee for Service Medicare Advantage enrollments (this is for the remainer of 2009 and throughout 2010).  At this point, I don’t know where Aetna will be disenrolliing PFFS members and where the plans will continue for existing members (although you will not be able to be paid a commission for selling the plan).

Generally speaking, I would say that if Aetna had a Coordinated Care Plan (HMO or PPO), you could assume that this plan would be continued in 2010 (although the premium/benefits will likely be changing in 2010), however, I don’t have details on county by county specifics on availability, premiums and/or benefits at this time.  Additionally, Aetna intends to offer its PDP in all 50 states again in 2010.

In addition, Aetna offers Medicare Supplement plans in 15 states with Virginia pending (click here for a list of states).  Aetna also offers Individual Voluntary Health Insurance in 33 states and DC.
