Time flies, it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, but today marks the First “Birthday” of the Medicare Blog. I hope you’ve found this resource to be an asset in keeping you informed on the latest happenings in the Medicare Market.
I’ve enjoyed the comments very much, as well, as well as the interaction with insurance agents, insurance companies, regulators, newspapers, online news media and other interested parties all over the United States.
I encourage you to leave a brief comment below! Let me (and others) know how this tool has helped you as well as giving any feedback to what you’d like to see more of (or less of) in the future!

Thanks to all who have participated with me in making this blog a unique forum for the Senior Market Insurance Agent!
I have written to my elected representatives no less than 3 times regarding some of these same issues. So far the only response I have received was from Senator McCaskill (D-MO). I received a form letter thanking me for my concerns about the problems with the health care system and touting how wonderful the new “Universal Health Care” will be for meas a health care consumer.
All businesses have “receivables”. In our business they are called “Commissions”. I think it is important to note to our elected officials that NO BUSINESS can survive when a biased 3rd party can arbitrarily change the terms of a payment contract and then REQUIRE the payor to with hold payment for upwards of 7-9 months from the original due date.
I just finished an excrutiating conversation with Advantra regarding the payment of “true-up” commissions. I spoke with 3 different representatives from the broker support line (all folks with VERY nasty demeanors) and still do not have a clear answer of when payments due from 01/01/09 effectives will be paid. The best I could get was “you might probably see it before the end of july but I won’t promise that”.
Thanks for being our collective voice, Craig.
This is the single handedly the best sight I have found for information. I have learned a great deal by being a *lurker* first and then becoming a member.
Further I appreciate the time spent on gathering information and education of agents without high pressure
recruiting tactics. And the info has been 100% accurate!
I think that Craig Ritter and staff deserve recognition for being a * cut above the rest.* I am very greatful for all
the wonderful resources this agency provides and I hope to
do lots of business with Ritter and I am in Texas!
Thank you very much for all you folks do to promote and preserve the insurance industry and the wellfare of Group
I agents in so many states.

Excellent Blog with valuable and current information. Especially during this past season of daily regulation changes, this blog was a friend to the local community professional agent.
