I don’t see anything new in Section 16 (page 24). The MA compensation was modeled after the Medigap NAIC compensation model. That’s why they look similar.

A flat commission schedule works. Personally, I was hoping last year for a flat MAPD commission schedule of about $275, which would have made alot more sense than this fiasco we have now.

It states that commissions will be paid only if the first year commissions were not more than 200% of second year and subsequent years of commissions. I don’t see this a problem. The only med supps I am currently selling are AARP supps and the commission is the same for the first year through year six.

If this is accurate these plans will have less impact then previously anticipated.

If anyone want to correct of concur I’d appreciate any feedback.

On page 24 like Phil said it sounds similar to the wording on MA comps. Do you think this is going to go the way of MA? (lower comps, replacements lower yet?) Do you feel we are going to go into June 2010 not knowing what we are going to be paid (like MA) or only to find out the figure is substantially lower?
Any word from companies is regards to my concerns?
Also towards the end it mentions regs on advertising. Knowing what you know are the new regs different from what we currently have and how do you feel it may inpact our marketing abilities?
After the problems with MA over the past year like you I have a whole new layer of skeptism.
