I was out doing some agent meetings this past week and had some conversations with the agents on the Scope of Appointment Form. I got the impression that their might be some confusion on when it is required, when it must be signed in advance and when it can be signed immediately prior to a presentation.
Failure to comply with the guidelines on Scope of Appointment can (and likely would) result in a termination of your appointment to write Medicare Advantage or Part D with an insurance carrier (since this is a violation of the MIPPA law) and would result in loss of commissions and, possibly, the loss of your ability to write MA/PDP with ANY carrier.
On June 11th at 2pm ET, I will be conducting a 15-minute live Webex training specifically on the Scope of Appointment form to be sure that you have a thorough understanding of your responsibilities. I’ll try to get one of my company reps on the call as well to help with Q&A.
My webex website can only handle 100 agents who register. If I see more demand for this, I’ll do some more trainings later in June.
