I never really saw this practice, other than a few plans in Florida, in any case, this practice has been ended.

Recently, I was invited to appear as a co-panelist at the 2009 National Summit for the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance. This is the 3rd annual National Summit and this year will prove to be most interesting in light of the significant changes in the rates which are paid to Medicare Advantage carriers beginning in 2009.
I’m looking forward to gathering as much information as possible about the trends in the Medicare Supplement industry to share with the 11,000 agents in the Ritter Insurance Marketing network.
Look for Ritter Insurance Marketing to be running live seminars in May, during the weeks following the Summit, along with online Webex’s for our agents in all 50 states!

The Admiral Life Insurance Company has revised the Medicare Supplement Application for the states of Idaho (ID), California (CA), Montana (MT), South Dakota (SD), Tennessee (TN) and Texas TX

The new application form numbers are “ALMSAPP200812ID for the state of ID, ALMSAPP200812CA for the state of CA, ALMSAPP200812MT for the state of MT, ALMSAPP200812SD for the state of SD, ALMSAPP200812TN for the state of TN and ALMSAPP200812TX for the state of TX.
The new applications will be required for signature dates on or after May 1, 2009.

North Carolina (NC) Agent Arrested For Stealing Identities

According to the NC Department of Insurance authorities, a Bahama woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing identities of more than 100 people, some of whom were dead, and signed them up for Medicare Advantage plans.
