MedPAC is a government agency which advises Congress on matters relating to Medicare. They are considered the “Gold Standard” for Medicare statistics and are supposed to be non-partisan. See www.medpac.gov for more information on MedPAC.

Medicare Advantage has been a falure for one reason: it cost 14% more to subsidize these plans to insurance companies than to keep the seniors on original Medicare. Plus, there are several dis-advantages with MA plans. Like small networks, restrictive care (HMO), and uncertianty (PFFS).
