I’m beginning to see final approvals. Information is a bit sketchy right now, but from what I can gather $500/$250 is the maximum allowable amount by CMS (this was in California, however). Thanks to Rick in California for supplying me with this information!
When final approvals come through, they will be retroactively applied to all AEP enrollments. For example, all cases written from 11/15/08 through 12/31/08 for a 1/1/09 effective date will be paid at the rate CMS approves, not necessarily the rate the company filed with CMS.

Thank you for providing us with vital information all year and working on our behalf so diligently all year. So many FMO organizations were so complacent/passive during this year’s commission setting/contracting/certification period.
It’s comforting to know congress will vote themselves a raise and I’m still waiting for Humana/United’s CEO’s to reject their salaries and bonuses in light of tough markets etc. and join in with their independent sales force struggling to make a living with new restrictions and reduced commissions. ( Santa will provide coal for christmas stocking)
Craig, I don’t know what you and most of your other agents around the country are experiencing but I most say this has been the most unsatisfying AEP. I have never encountered ruder, meaner, and nastier people. Granted, I have been turning people coming to me for PDP analysis only away. Takes to much time, no financial reward and my office rent has to be paid. All those people who bought from a Humana captive agent. (Angry people who feel its their right to my time free).
Last night after 8:30pm(12/23) when I had made a huge mistake on an electronic submission and knew I had to quit working immediatedly I paused to reflect on everything I had done throughout this AEP. And I came up very financially short. My income will definitely be cut in half this year for AEP. Cash flow will definitely be different next year because of renewal flows etc. I know I did an excellent, honorable,ethical
meeting with everyone I sat with. But I had very little satisfication and pleasure in what I was doing. Too much to always be thinking about- new rules, IVRs SOAs explanations, etc. and just not as motivated knowing I’m working as hard for half as much. ( Do I sound bitter after 20 yrs?)
Thanks, for letting me vent. I know my husband doesn’t want to hear it. He can’t understand why everything has to be reset every AEP: then neither can I.

Looks like I will have to start knocking on doors to make a living. Oh we can’t do that. Who cares about CMS and there stupid regulations. I intend on breaking them all just for the fun of it. Nobody will take away my livelihood!! especially when I treat everyone the right way.
It would be nice to get a commission………by the way Congress is voting to give themselves a raise, I thought you all would love to hear that!!!!

When do we get the final word.
If you are a GA you can get $650 and not allowed to pay any to brokers or agents.
It’s $400 only in Colorado and TN I found out today in a special meeting and in most states. Only about three states have higher commissions. Looks like the socialist Democratic party has started getting revenue from us already.

Where did you hear that. That is a far cry from the $550/$275 for the Coventry CCP with Rx(MA-PD).

I can live with $500/$250.
