Yeah who ever thought of NOT COMPARING? Isn’t that what someone would go to a professional for? Most people have a foot high pile of marketing pieces and that is exactly what they want, someone to help them compare. Remember Insurance documents are not the most exciting reading to the general public. If they do away with the independent agent, each Medicare Beneficiary would have to meet with 5 to 10 Captive agents to get enough info to make a decision.
Since we are not supposed to compare plans to the client, I normally review the file, narrow down appropriate plans unless there is a clear choice to their situation. Then in the appointment I review the changes to any current plans and where a client wants available options and is considering several plans, I talk to the client about the benefits that are most important to their situation and concerns and sometimes tell them to write down the things that are the most important to them and then they can put the answers next to those items as I present. This way they are doing their own compare.
Thanks! Good to see the current press on all of this. Everyone urges Seniors to compare plans including Medicare… This year more than the past few, benefits and premiums are all over the place and changes are big in a lot of cases.

Too bad alot of seniors wont be able to compare since CMS put ridicules restrictions on independent agents who could have helped them.
