Here is a copy of the model form which CMS is asking Health Plans to use for the agents in documenting their appointments with Medicare Beneficiaries. This came out last night. The Health Insurance companies will file this document with CMS for your use. As soon as we have company specific forms, you should begin using them.
Here is the form: cms_appointment_form
Yeah, way to many rules and pay changes. I used to really enjoy helping seniors but now I don’t even know if I’m allowed to speak to them or how I’m going to get paid. I feel like I’m back in the military where I needed permission to breathe. I thought after 10 yrs of doing this I would be comfortable with my job but it’s the exact opposite. Maybe it’s time for a change!!
What’s the saying about power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I give up with CMS. They want us to inform recipients of their choices but will punish us if we do. The writing is on the wall where only Medicare itself will do the enrollments.
I’ll do my best to follow rules that make sense. But this is the last straw!
We can’t talk to people at health fairs. We can’t ask for names at a seminar. My mother lives with me. If I want to talk to her about an MA plan, does she have to inititate the contact?
CMS is going to find that very little business is going to be placed this “season” and then they’ll point their finger at insurance agents for not doing our job.
The amazing thing is if there was no such thing as “lock-in” almost none of the problems would have arisen.
