Key point here is to support the Grassley-Baucus compromise bill versus the House version of the bill.
Here is the complete text of the Wellcare comments:
On Tuesday the House of Representatives voted to phase out the Medicare Advantage PFFS program by a vote of 355-59. Many House members said they changed their vote because their constituents weren’t vocal enough in opposing an end to the PFFS program.
The bill now goes to the Senate where it is expected to pass on Thursday or Friday.
Passage of this bill would serve to eliminate Private Fee-For-Service programs industry-wide.
WellCare recognizes that PFFS sales may be a significant source of a producer’s business—which is obviously important to your livelihood—but even more importantly, WellCare knows that these programs offer benefits that are crucial to seniors who would otherwise have few alternatives.
We believe President Bush might veto the legislation, but not if it passes by an overwhelming margin, as it did in the House.
Your voice of opposition is crucial.
If you sell Medicare Advantage PFFS plans, please contact your Senator and voice your opposition to the House bill which ends the PFFS plan option.
