What you need to know about our Phone Verification at Point-of-Sale for Med Supp and Senior Life/Final Expense applications:

NOTE: Please call EMSI directly anytime if you experience a longer than normal hold time while calling the Austin office.
When you initiate the call at the point of sale, please provide the plan, premium, and bank information to the verifier before turning the call over to the applicant. The applicant must personally answer all questions.
If the applicant completes the PV on their own, make sure they have:
* The plan they have chosen
* The modal premium that the company will be drafting
* Their bank information if setting up an automatic draft
* A list of their prescription medications The phone verifier will confirm that the applicant received the following:
* An Application and an Outline of Coverage
* The “Choosing a Medigap Policy: A Guide to Health Insurance for People with Medicare” Guide They cannot conduct the phone verification if the applicant does not have this information.
The telephone verifier will follow an established script and will review the application questions with the applicant. Average length of call is 15 minutes. Usual and customary underwriting procedures will remain in place.
** We will also do an abbreviated Phone Verification (PV) interview on all turning 65 open enrollment or other guarantee issue Med Sup cases. We will only need to verify basic info such as name, address, DOB, Medicare status, effective date, billing/banking info, etc. to make sure we have accurate information for our records.
IMPORTANT INFO: If an agent writes a Senior Life AND a Medicare Supplement application at the same time, they need to complete both phone verifications, but they can be done at the same time. Call EMSI at 800-228-7704 to complete both phone verifications. Make sure to indicate on both applications the assigned case number (Senior Life and Medicare Supplement) and that the phone verification was completed by EMSI.
